This Privacy Policy explains how Glint ("the App") handles information when you use the App on macOS.

Glint (the macOS app) does not share any data whatsoever with the developer or with any third party.

This website for Glint may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic and usage. Google Analytics applies to this website only and does not apply to the Glint macOS app.

1. Information We Collect

Glint is designed to minimize data collection. The App may process file paths, file names, and supported file types (.docx and .xlsx) locally on your device in order to route files from Finder to Google Docs or Google Sheets.

2. Local Processing

File handling logic is performed locally on your Mac. The App does not intentionally collect or store the contents of your documents on developer-controlled servers. No file contents, file metadata, usage data, or personal information is transmitted to the developer or any third party by Glint.

3. Third-Party Services

When you choose to open a file with Google Docs or Google Sheets, your use of Google services is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy. Glint does not send your data to third parties. Any interaction with Google services occurs only as a direct result of your action to open a file in those services.

4. Analytics and Diagnostics

The Glint macOS app does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or user tracking technologies. The Glint website uses Google Analytics to collect website usage information such as pages visited, approximate location, browser/device details, and interaction metrics. This website analytics data is processed by Google under Google's terms and privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

The App does not maintain a remote user account system and does not retain document content on remote infrastructure. Any local app preferences remain on your device until removed.

6. Security

We use reasonable measures in the app design to reduce unnecessary access to data. No software can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Glint is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
